If I lived somewhere where open carry was allowed, I still would not do it. If you are in some sort of bad situation (middle of a bank robbery, etc), having the gun exposed makes you lose all tactical advantage. You will either be disarmed or shot immediately. At least if your gun is hidden, you can choose to do something (or not) at a time that suits you.
