Question. Did you use the same earphones for both the iPod and the Creative when you did your test? Then to there are other factors that shape the sound of the iPod. For me at least the stock iPod earphones have never fit in my ear in such a way as to give the full potention of the sound they can deliver. I have to hold them in with my fingers then they sound better. I tried other "in ear" earphones and was astonished at the difference.
