Thanks for the info. The point about not being able to power it via the mini usb is a minus for me. My current GPS is powered in my X5 via the mini USB connector. When I installed my first GPS several years ago (a Garmin I5) ago I hardwired it via the a mini usb cable. I did the install so as the cable is not apparent and comes from inside the vent. The 350 works perfectly with this too as well as few other GPS that I tried. I would like to reuse this solution for my new GPS if possible rather than having to rewire it.
