A chip upgrade would probably be the easiest way to achieve 20% more power and torque.

I think under the "International" selection, you can change countries.
Either way, you can take the chip out of the X5 and send it to Powerchip or perhaps a local chip upgrade company would be more convenient.
I have a 2005 Diesel 6 Speed manual. I have not done the upgrade, but a friend has done it on both his X5 and 530D and is extremely happy.
