Definitely stick to 250cc for a while if you can. It's too easy to become a statistic when first starting out. I remember many years ago when Kawasaki introduced their Mach3 500cc triple cylinder 2 stroke. A lot of people were caught out with this bike, both experienced and inexperienced.
