Agree with Brian5 that it's all personal preference. I like BOTH looks.
Keep in mind though that chrome is more difficult to maintain, the nicks and scuffs are more visible than they would be on the silver paint. If you plan on putting on major mileage, you would need to take them off once in a while and get them re-chromed to keep the shiny look.
