up: I have seen a manual come up a few times and Stlrs will love to
toss them as few of us want/have one.

Yes, all pre-'07s were available with manual; that 6 spd gives you a
better highway cruise ratio, though it is barely overdriven, ratio-wise;
you still have the stump puller 1st gear ratio, however.

I wouldn't sweat an '06 from FL or any coast; unless they sat outside
during a trop storm or 'cane, they should not be more rust prone in
that short of a life span...
do a dig on the BMW site on occasion and see what pops up. I would
not rec'd a used, non-warranty of some kind, X5, imo.
