Nobody knows if there are going to be any changes, but I would not be surprised if they put the improved engines/X-drive system of the X6 into the 2009 X5.
I have no information to support this, but it would seem to make sense with them being built in the same plant, and considering the demand/competition trend in the X5 vehicle segment.

I dont think they will transpose anything from the X6 to the X5
They will want to carve out the niche for the X6 without compromising its position of confusing the market
