Date and time can be displayed in the cluster by cycling through the OBD items (press the stalk button to do so). You can also select which OBD items you would like to see displayed by holding in the stalk button until the display appears on the nav screen. The order you check them is the order they will be displayed.

Also note that the X5 nav screen never came with a CD player behind the screen, only a cassette. Only the late model E46 (3-series) had this available.
