I feel your pain. I ordered and purchased my '08 X5, so I was really dissapointed when my driver's side inside door opening mechanism broke within the first two weeks of ownership. Until the dealer had a loaner ready for me, I had to roll down my window and let myself out using the outer handle. The dealer hasn't been able to reattach the door panel back in place correctly, there are gaps along the fitment, so they placed an order for a complete replacement door panel assembly. Just hope the colors end up matching.

To top it off, the dealer scratched my rim, which I pointed out and they agreed to address the next time I would be in.

Annoying to say the least, but I guess I anticipated a few technical problems along the way with ownership, so it kind of lessened the blow knowing it's something that can be fixed.
