All you really need is a big open end wrench that fits on the fan nut and a smallish screwdriver that you can wedge in between two of those bolts on the hub the fan spins on. Wedge the screwdriver in, put the wrench on and give it a nice whack - it's left hand thread so don't hit it the wrong way. No special tool needed.
