We are in much the same boat on this one, AZM.
While it the technical superiority and utility of a 3-series clearly outstrips the X3 (perhaps with the exception of traction/handling without the Xdrive), but everything feels more dramatic and interesting in the X3 by comparison.

I think it is possible that this reaction will wear off when I am finally over the novelty of the X3 in terms of driving experience, but I will have to keep y'all posted on that.
