I am writing because after all the information that I have seen about
the Palm Treo 650 (Verizon) everyone seems to say that it only send a
limited number of CONTACT which MUST be stored in the “SPEED DIAL” or

my ENTIRE CONTACTS (459 in all) to the vehicle. This makes sense to me
because with my Motorola E815, I also had over 400 numbers in the
Bluetooth memory. I have a 2005 X5 4.8iS, a Motorola E815 (Verizon) and a
Palm Treo 650 (Verizon) and they all work great. Here are the steps:

1) CLEAR ANY “TRUSTED SOURCES” from the Treo 650.
2) Initialize a BLUETOOTH PAIRING
3) Perform Bluetooth pairing (but once the session is complete and the
BMW gives the confirmation BEEP, do not power cycle the car, leave as
is)
4) Go to contacts (here you can do whichever category, “ALL”,
“BUSINESS”, etc) and drop down the menu and choose “SEND CATEGORY”.
5) You will see the Treo 650 “PREPAIRING” and then “SENDING” with no
error messages. (Note you can also send just individual contact if you
want, but again, they must be done in the initial pairing state.)
6) Power cycle the car and now you should have your entire phonebook (I
have 459 contacts so far and did not have any problems). Special Note:
Special characters which loaded fine with my Motorola E815 such as
accents on name will not load with the TREO 650, instead, it will give a
“(M) WINDOWS1252” message, but again, no error messages.
