I bought my X5 from Carmax and bought their 3 year 30k warranty because this particular warranty allowed me to chose to take it to BMW dealers for repair. It cost $1,800 and I hav ealready had over $5k in repairs done. I would have set my X on fire and rolled it off a cliff by now if I didn't buy the warranty. I still have 10k or 1.5 years left on it too! I am a big fan of getting the warranty for an X5.
