This should be interesting, socialism or capitalism. McCain's biggest issue is going to be going against Barak's outpouring of popularity. Though I had a couple notes/thoughts from last night:

Notes: Barry Goldwater and George McGovern were Obama in style HUGE turnouts of voters to get them going, in the end neither became Prez.

Thoughts:

I heard a lot of mention about "change" of the parties because people were sick of Bush. Well, I sure hope people payed attention when they removed a huge number of Reps from Congress and replaced them with Dems. The Dems delivered on ZERO of their promises and have a 18% approval rating, or close to that dismal, as a Congress. So..that was a "change" obviously not for the better and removing the party is RARELY the answer. I think Barak is an excellent motivator (heck that is what he did)..Tony Robbins better look out, but I think thoughts like "raising" any tax with an economy this much in the tank is perhaps the worst possible idea put out and for that alone, I wouldn't vote for him. I have already seen this exact scenario play out here in Maryland:

Dem governor replaces Rep gov ONLY because it was at a time when Reps were loathed. So new Dem comes in, hikes up state tax and increases huge amounts of social spending..then RUT ROH Raggy, the economy tanks. Now..you've already increased taxes and spent away your budget...what do you do?? There is a reason Reps work with in the confines of the current structure, because you don't increase overhead. Any business owner would tell you, the easiest place to start saving money is in overhead.

IMO.
