Aim for universal coverage by requiring employers to share costs of insuring workers and by offering coverage similar to that in plan for federal employees. I just want to focus on this part, because neither of these 2 offer anything that is going to help the average person. As a business owner, I have stopped offering health care to employees. At $750+ per month for a single employee, and $1200+ per month for a family, I simply cannot afford it. I'd imagine there are plenty of other small businesses dealing with the same issue. My overseas business associates laugh whenever I discuss this issue with them, as none of them have to deal with this. I see this as one of the most important issues, and will not vote for a any candidate who does not have a viable plan to fix this problem.
