NO! Do NOT use the V31 copy that you can download for the Mk3. This image has been copied in the wrong format - it is Mode1. Mode1 will crash the Mk3. You must use Mode2/Form1 images only. V30 and earlier are available as Mode2/Form1.
The OS disc contains software for at least 7 different navigation computers (Mk1...Mk4, NAVI01...NAVI03). Each computer has a different OS software package to be loaded onto it.

Same as Mk4, with the note that you must only use Mode2 format OS CDs on the Mk3.

Yes, you can easily overwrite with whatever you want.
VDO have language files for many languages. The BMW disc only has about 7 languages, but more languages can be obtained from a VDO disc
