Do all of the following:
Make sure you use an original (copy) of the BMW OS
Not a 'changed' or 'edited' disc
Ensure it is Mode2 before you use it
Ensure it is error free and has good sectors - do a sector scan
Ensure battery is good before you upgrade
Pray
Have a glass of vodka
Hold your breath
