I don't care whether McCain, Bush or Obama are pandering- that's what politicians do. But opening it up now is a good idea and the longer we wait the worse off we'll be.
There's a reason the current congress consistently rates ten points worse than Bush and at their lowest point in history- they haven't done sh*t, much less expressed any foresight or resolve when it comes to doing what's best for our country. If I were a Democrat I'd jump on the Bush/McCain proposals and one up them- make them part of a comprehensive energy policy that helps in the short term and plans for the long. But I guess it's easier for Pelosi, Reid and friends to sit around blaming Bush for everything rather than come up with a solution.
I've never been more ashamed to be a Democrat.

Actually, Toyota's sales are dipping as a result of over dependance on the US market and US dollar value.
Want to be ashamed to be a democrat, consider this...in 2007 "I will not take private funds, we need a generally funded election"....in 2008 "I will take private funds"...GO OBAMA.
