It is a little wierd, no doubt. I don't have my permit yet, and I'm not sure what I'll do when I get it - I just want to get it in case. Mostly, I want it for my car and my boat.

I have a buddy that carries always. It is a little strange. I also know, though, that he's responsible and can handle it, so I don't worry. It seems that most nutballs don't have permits.

In Florida, you don't have to have a permit to own a gun - just to carry it concealed. I am not sure, but I think you can have it laying on your front seat in plain view, and that's OK. Stick it under the seat, and you have to have a permit.
