Wow, the fires here in Northern California are terrible.

The smoke is thick where I'm at and I'm miles away from many of the 850 fires now blazing across Northern California. The lightning storm that lit many of them Friday night was amazing. The flashes woke up my wife who woke me up asking if the power pole was arcing. Turned out to be a dry lightning storm North of me which is rare in California which accounted for 6000+ lightning strikes.

The Mendocino and Napa fires are really taking a toll and several of my friends have been evacuated from their homes. I'm keeping my son indoors due to the heavy smoke seeing he is only 18 months old. Too bad...He loves to be outside.

BTW...Forget Gas prices. Napa and Mendocino produce some fine wines so keep your fingers crossed wine drinkers.
