Just another quote to put in your "Book of DUMB"..
Speed is not 140 mph in a straight line. 140 MPH is NOTHING.. I do that every time I do down the front straight at Willow Springs race track.
Speed, as defined by any one behind the wheel who actually has a clue, is about the quality and quantity of acceleration you are able to input while driving through a fast line. It's also about the quality and quantity of your braking, or rather: your ability to Threshold Brake while Heel n Toe downshifting, while Trailing Throttle Oversteering onto your Apex.
That is speed.
Speed is what happens when you shave 1 second off your lap times, not 10 minutes off your commute home from Atlantic City. Speed is what happens when your smooth, consistent and driving like a well oiled machine.
140 mph in a straight line is about as impressive as doing a bunny hop on a Schwinn. They only thing that's even slightly adrenaline about it, is the fact it's illegal (and stupid for unqualified drivers.)...
I'd be willing to bet you you didn't even take the time to check your tire pressures before your little Cannonball Runs.. "Oh, but why should I check my tire pressures? They feel fine..."....
Or at least tell me genius, what were your cold tire temps and what were you're hot tire temps?
What about your brakes? Did you ever bother to bleed them before your little cross country race?
Call me what you want, big mouth, peasant, etc. It doesn't bother me. What bothers me is jackasses behind the wheel of a machine they have no business driving fast.
