yes - radar can be accurate to a point except around corners and fogs. Radars uses the doppler effect to get an accurate reading. A first year physics/engineering major can explain the formula and bore you to death with it. Lasers of course use light for faster readings.
If your friend does fight the case make sure to ask for the calibration of the radar. If the calibration is not produced or within spec then the case should be dismissed.
Depending of the fine, If it was me - I pay it.

Love the FL white sand beaches and you are right. Comparing the brown muck that they call beaches here in the NE does not compare to the beaches in FL.

Ps - looks like a great time! And put some meat on those bones!
