I have had two issus on my daughter's 2001 Civic coupe, (DRL light, and Airbag light). Both have been caused by bad connections. The DRL light required a repair to the circuit board due to bad solder from Honda's supplier (don't believe the No Servicable Parts Inside sticker). The airbag light was a contact, but it has come back again. It is the sensor under the passenger seat, so it is only going to impact the non-existent passenger. I found that you can reset it with a paper clip and a series of dots and dashes across two pins in the harness. The things you can find on the internet...

Very reliable cars, but with some corners cut on items that were added for the colonies when the cars were built. NA-specific pollution controls fall in that category along with DRLs and airbag cutouts.

You may just need a primary 02 sensor, but the above experience would have me looking for a harness or connection issue first, and checking fuses.
