I'd like to utilise the phone capabilities on my 2004 X3. However, it does not have Bluetooth since it was a MY2004 vehicle. I want to know if I can install the BMW phone and cradle so that I can place and receive calls, as well as use the Phonebook functionality.

One dealer told me that the BMW phone unit has been discontinued, and that my only option would be to install the Bluetooth functionality. This means I would also have to buy a new TCU/BMW Assist module. It's very pricey, making the project close to $1000.

What can I do?
