This combined with the tire tread design and wide width are really dangerous in snow - somewhat like a 5,000lb sled.

I swap out my 19's with Diamaris for 17's with true winter tires every year. But I go pretty deep into Maine and Vermont a lot.

If you don't want the hassle of a second set or wheels/tires a set of all seasons would serve you a lot better than the Diamaris in the winter - especially if you don't get much snow in the Philly area.
I will def keep them on until maybe December or so, we have been having mild winters lately and it has been somewhat warm until the middle of Dec, maybe the lowest it gets is about 35, once Jan/Feb gets here it drops.

Does your X look odd with 17's since they are smaller?

If I wanted to get a 2nd set of wheels/tires in 17's or 18's what size tires should I look for? Do they have to be staggered? What is the bolt pattern?

I found these wheels 18's for $155 each and maybe match them with Goodyear Eagle Responsedge tires for $157 each on tire rack...so for $1248 plus shipping I have a winter set, is it worth it, or just spend $1195 for the Pirelli's mounted/balanced?
