Know what you mean. I didn't *really* want to like the E70 X5 after owning a 2002 X5 that I felt was too small...as in.....why not just buy a 5 series touring......and too choppy riding.
I tried hard to talk my wife in to a new generation V70 (because they are nice, roomy and cheap), but once she drove the X5 and I saw the .9% deal it was pretty much game over.
$2K below invoice on a nearly fully loaded vehicle didn't hurt either.
4 days in and so far I think it's a great vehicle. Wish I could have afforded the 4.8, but my wife seems happy with the acceleration of the 3.0 and it's her vehicle so..........
