I have some greyed out/dead pixels that seems to be spreading, taking up about 1/4" x 1 1/4" area of the screen. Don't want to have to buy a whole new factory nav unit to get the screen back.

I'll contact BMW NA first, 1-800-831-1117.
Even if it's out of waranty they may offer to pick part of the tabs.
I feel you have to be the original owner(bought the car brand new), it helps if you bought another BMW recently
(some sort of loyal BMW customer get something back).
But again it all depends cause the car is out of waranty anyway.
