Thanks for all the "looks" and kind words!

PNG/K: Yes, I have the Canon 40D Jones, but
not the justification for the expenditure at the
moment. Actually, my KM 5D is ok, but I do have
a couple of "spots" on the CCD that will not come
off, and my old film cam Sigma lenses are getting
a lil' beat up and, they were not great glass to start
with. Maybe I can be your assistant...

QuickX5: Lettme know next time you are coming
this way...we can chase it on Laurel Ridge CC,
my home track. We live 15 mins from that Junalaska
course.

Rayxi: We did have several very large trees taken down
this spring and several more "topped". We left a thinned
out one on the left and right to sort of frame the view.
The trees taken down were 150+ yr old white oaks and
rock maples, 3-4 ft in dia and a hundred ft tall. Even the
thinned ones are that size, and down a 55 deg slope in
the woods below the deck...this is not like cutting down
a tree in the backyard, lol! I'll live with the two "framers"
for a year or so...below are crummy stitched pano shots
of "before and after". The HOAs here are tough on totally
de-treeing the steep slopes...
