Dealer says that cars usually come with 8-14 miles on the odometer. Then, their technicians do a pre-delivery check which adds another 3-5 miles. X5 I'm looking at was stored off the dealer's lot in their storage lot, which is 5 miles away. So, 14 (original) + 5 (technician) + 5 (to the storage lot) + 5 (from the storage lot) = 29 miles. Difference is 20 miles.
Dealer also said that it could have possibly be test driven before. Assuming that it was kept at the same storage lot, I need to subtract a round trip (10 miles), which leaves another 10 miles for the test drive.
Does it sound reasonable?
