there are some people that know how to do it, but from what I read is that there are 8 or 9 keys pre-made for each car and if you loose one of your 2 you go to a dealer and dealer orders one for you out of those 8 or 9 keys. (under $200) There is that chip in the key that's pre-programmed for your cars' lock and if you got the key custom cut and remote programmed for your car as in your case, but the chip is not programmed for your lock it won't work (as you can see now). As I said before, there are some people (underground) that know how to program that chip and have special equipment for it. I don't think dealership has that equipment as they only order a key that's already made. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
