Sounds like a bad sensor. If you can figure out which one it is they're not that hard to change yourself. I have an extra one myself for the rear of an E53... don't think that would fit your application though.
The diagnostic equiptment at the dealer would tell you exactly which one is out, but then you would have to pay their diagnois fee. (unless you know someone there that can hook you up)
