I'm assuming that you have checked all connections, I think you already did? You may also want to pop off the spoiler and check the integrity of the factory cell antenna.You could also call your cell phone provider and ask them if they have any towers down where your reception is bad. So if you pull the phone out of the cradle, your bars increase??
