Did the "purple" round connector look kinda like this one??
If so, there should be a female one and a male one in the back. If you connect the two of them, it enables you to use the X5's internal cell antenna through your snap in adapter.
Does your MID show "Voice Recognition" in the display, but you have no sound?? Again, this is what I had to do:
"Try putting in a jumper from Pin 11 to 14 on the plug coming from the cradle".
