Sorry if this sounds judgmental, but a 14 year old complaining about his parents resistance in fixing the cupholders in his BMW has a little more to learn, and not just about BMW's. They sound like pretty good parents to me!

Good luck with the X5. You can save a ton of money by digging in and trying some of these things yourself. Trial and error. You'll save tons more in successes than you'll lose with the mistakes you'll make. You sound like a smart kid. You'll figure it all out!
