I thought the same thing.. Then I decided to try it cause there is a 60 day free trial.
But I quickly figured out, you use the same name and password as .MAC. And if you didn't have a .MAC account, they give you a .ME account, but if you did have a .MAC account, then you automatically have a .MAC and a .ME account.

Again, don't quote me on it, but that's how I think it works.

Mobilme = .MAC
