Bad idea for the US to do anything the Russians would deem as hostile. We are spread WAY too thin right now and I could not think of a worse time to re-start the cold war.

Also...Place yourself in Putin's place right now. If I were him I'd be doing the same everything Geo-politically Considered. In the grand scheme of things Russia has a right to act in their best interest.

Too bad because Georgia would be a strategic goldmine for the West.
