I had ordered a rebuilt transfer case from transfercases.com for the 2001 X5 4.4. Its the New Ventures (NV) case. I was stranded as some of you know from previous posting and it sounded like the transfer case. Turns out that it was my right side axle. I just had these replaced and apparently a clip (c clip I believe) broke or came loose. The mechanic replaced the clip and has been test driving it and all good now. Transfer case is just fine. So,

I have a transfer case, still in the packaging, from transfercases.com. I paid around $1200 or so. It is completely rebuilt. I would need whoever buys it to promise to return the core to them. The case its shipped in is used to return the core. Shipping UPS is about $70 to them. They have a place in Oakland, CA and on the east coast.
