You say Thermo Top Z and as i understand you have 30d engine )

These sounds are normal, because of "Z" Webasto Type.

"Z" is completely same as "C" But it works only like additional heater (NOT parking heater)

It starts working because diesel engine running at idle speed cannot produce enough heat for climate system.

ticking sounds - fuel pump pulsation (placed near tank)

Dont worry about this - ewerything is OK, enjoy your Diesel )
