We just spoke on the phone about this issue - the part you need is not available seperately for the X5, but can be retrofitted from a Z4. The audio systems are essentially the same as far as wiring goes.

The cable will have to be routed from the radio all the way back to the cargo area - if you have Navigation, congrats - you just saved a LOT of time since the tuner is in the spare tire well.

Here's the part number in case anyone else is interested:

84.11.0.150.525 - Extension Cable - $18.25


Edit: Since this is going to be used for the CD Changer input - I believe it should be on the right hand side, not the left. The left hand side is the AUX portion.
