Safety is for a sure a key element with this. And unless you hit some seriously bad stuff on the road, or your tire was defective, you will not be tearing up your pricey wheels by driving to a safe location.

I guess it never bothered me, being that my M3 didn't come with a spare or jack either. Instead, it came with some fix-a-flat type stuff, and an air compressor. In which, I've owned for 4 years now, and have never needed either(knock on wood). Of course, I don't drive the M in places that I would the X.

The added storage, runflats, and weight savings are all pluses in my book. Had given the choice, I'd choose not to have the spare/jack, which are usually chinky anyways.

It's also one less thing to clunk around in the back of the truck.
