Yes, you can install the AUX input on this radio module (the nav drive has nothing to do with this, btw). It will just plug in to the radio module in the trunk and once it is plugged in you will see "AUX" as on of the options when you press the MODE button and cycle through the selections.
BMW X5's from 2003 and newer allow you to install the AUX input up front, but I'm not sure if the wiring will be there on a 2002 or not.
