There is no affect to the xenons whatsoever. However, the high beams essentially become a spotlight - both shoot straight out in front to the same spot. I actually like it bc it really lights the road up in front of you.

Plus it is great when someone cuts you off and you can blind the heck out of their rearview mirror!!!

Headlight check is not part of our annual inspection, so I cannot speak to that question.
