I've been struggling for several weeks. We have a somewhat random way of determining who pays for the chile con queso and drinks after the round. I have had to pay for four out of the last five weeks.

Here's how it works:

If you have the high net score on a hole, alone, you get a nacho on that hole. If there is more than one group, the scorecards are compared at the end to eliminate tied nacho holes among the groups.

If you have a natural birdie on a hole, you get an anti-nacho.

If you have a natural eagle or better you are nacho free for the day.

At the end of the round, everyone with anti-nachos can eliminate holes of their choice where they have nachos using one anti-nacho per nacho.

The player with the low net score rolls one die at the end of the round. If the roll is:

- 1 or 2, one die is rolled
- 3 or 4, two dice are rolled
- 5 or 6, three dice are rolled

until a nacho hole is hit to determine the person who pays.

It's fun because it adds an element of luck to the game.

I'm not sure why they're called nachos, since we have chile con queso
