This election will be decided by the debates. Obama uses a lot of words to get his point across and he sometimes sounds like a lawyer and that could spell trouble. McCain on the other hand tends to lose his focus and shows his age.
McCain's pick of Palin was more based on winning the Presidential race rather than based on what's best for America at this point in time. McCain clearly would not have picked Palin if Obama selected Hilliary.

If McCain had selected Palin before Obama named Biden, Obama still would have selected Biden as a VP (a selection that is based on what's good for America now).

Obama vetted seriously, and selected a fine VP.
