But then, where we live, the weather can get pretty nasty. In SoCal where the weather is always perfect I'd imagine your windshield wipers are probably just an afterthought

I will have to agree on the Micro Edge wearing down rather quickly. They are awesome brand new, but I usually dont rely on them to last more than one winter season....and thats with California weather too. Actually, they tend to warp or dry out over time, which renders them useless by the time they're needed anyways.
Maybe I'll try a set of Icons on the X5. Last I used them was on my Integra and they weren't anything special to me. Or at least I didn't notice a difference in comparison to the micro edge wiper.
