Question UK 2004 X5 Bluetooth Retrofit

Hi

This is my first post, so be gentle with me

I take delivery of a 2004 X5 3.0D Sport next week, it has all the bits I wanted, Nav etc, but with no bluetooth.

As I understand it, this is quite a big job on a euro spec car, as the s604 (?) option isn't fitted, so a new loom has to be installed. Two questions really;

1. Is this something I want to even consider? I'm used to having the bluetooth integrated into the Nav in my current car, so this would be the favoured approach over something like a Parrot. But.... Is the effort going to outweigh the benefit?

2. If it is worth the effort, what do I need, and where can I get it. Looked around, and everything seems readily available in the US, not to much this side of the pond though. I assume that all the part numbers are the same where ever, but I'm probably wrong. I don't want to go through the dealer, as I have been quoted a price of £1,700 for just the parts

Any help on this would be much appreciated

Dave
