5W-30 Castrol Syntec. I believe the 4.4 takes just over 8 quarts. You can pick up the 5 quart containers at Wal-Mart in the low $20 range. Total for 10 quarts and a canister filter = $60. If you go to Jiffy Lube or BMW you pay around $100. The easiest vehicle I have ever changed.
