My 330xi goes off warranty in early Nov. Looks like I will have to seriously consider the MB ML320 CDI. May not be quite up to the X5 diesel, but it it is probably $5k cheaper and is available now. The diesel has been planned for a while. They already sell diesels everywhere else in the world (All made is South Carolina?). If they are having last-minute issues, I'm not sure I want one. Maybe I'll lease the ML320 and give them a year or two to get it right.

Don't get me wrong. I love the 330xi, but this is a rational decison.
