I've done the same thing myself.........only once mind!!

Had to be taken home (about 10 miles away) to get the spare key and then all was resolved. Felt a complete idiot though!!

Lesson learned loud and clear, so I now ALWAYS unlock at least one door even if I'm only working in the trunk.

Personally I would also be EXTREMELY wary of only getting one key with a 2nd hand car. I'd want to know where the other key was and if it's lost get it disabled on the car systems so it won't work again, and then tell the salesperson that if they want a sale, they provide two keys at no extra cost to me!!
